Friday December 20th, 7-9pm: Live reading of A Christmas Carol
Bierly Brewing proudly presents a live reading of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, read by Chicago actor Jaq Seifert. The reading will be held at Bierly Brewing, 624 NE 3rd Street, on Friday, December 20th, 2024 at 7pm with seating beginning at 6pm. The event is free to attend, with a suggested $10 cover. Food and drinks will be available for purchase, and the show will run approximately two hours.
First published in 1843, A Christmas Carol tells the story of Ebeneezer Scrooge, a miserly old man who despises Christmas, who is visited by the ghosts of his former business partner Jacob Marley and the spirits of Christmas Past, Present, and Yet to Come, forcing him to confront his selfish ways and ultimately transforming him into a kind and generous person who embraces the holiday spirit. In this live reading for all ages, Mx. Seifert will create the character of Scrooge, Marley, the Ghosts, Bob Cratchit, Tiny Tim, and more as they bring the story to life.
